List of Mobile Phones that Can't Access WhatsApp

The WhatsApp instant messaging application will stop support for older versions of the iPhone. Because, the latest version of WhatsApp now requires the iOS 8 operating system or newer on Apple's device.

That is, applications that are 'no longer compatible' with a smartphone will automatically no longer work. Moreover, this Facebook application is the most popular in the world with more than 1.5 billion users.

Just so you know, WhatsApp started its service in 2009. At that time, about 70 percent of WhatsApp user devices run BlackBerry and Nokia-made operating systems.

Only about 25 percent of devices are based on Android, Windows Phone, and iOS that run the service. Citing the Metro site, Friday, September 21, 2018, here is a list of phones that can no longer access WhatsApp.

BlackBerry
BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry OS7 Plus brands have been unable to use WhatsApp since December 31, 2017. Previously, WhatsApp will stop supporting BlackBerry at the end of 2016.

However, then it was extended again until June 2017, until finally it really could not access WhatsApp at the end of last year.

Nokia
Series 40, often abbreviated as S40, is a software platform and application software user interface (UI) on various mid-level feature phones owned by Nokia.

In the era, S40 is one of the most widely used mobile platforms in the world. In fact, Nokia announced on January 25, 2012 that they have sold more than 1.5 billion Series 40 devices.

But it must be remembered, Nokia S40 is not a smartphone, but a feature phone. Even so, Nokia S40 can access WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

However, starting December 31, 2018, Nokia S40 users can no longer officially use the WhatsApp application. But it's not the case with Nokia Symbian S60. This device can't access WhatsApp earlier, precisely in June 2017.

iPhone
WhatsApp seems no longer available to people who use Apple's iPhone Series 4 and Series 5 devices, because they ended support for iOS version 7.

Apple's iPhone 4 Series was released in 2010 and Apple stopped producing and selling this device in 2013. The latest version of iOS that can still access WhatsApp is 7.1.2. As for the iPhone 5 Series, the iOS update is minimal to version 7.1.2.

However, Whatsapp plans to stop support for all iPhones running iOS 7, as well as Android 2.3.7 devices, on February 1, 2020.
