Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and Mi 8 Pro, These are Sightings and Specifications

Xiaomi launched the Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite. In China, Xiaomi named the two phones as Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint and Mi 8 Youth Edition. Of the two, the Mi 8 Pro is a more interesting device considering it is equipped with a fingerprint sensor below the screen.

The Mi 8 Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 as a processor, 6GB of RAM or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Xiaomi uses an OLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2248 and measures 6.21 inches for the screen of this phone.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro also comes with two rear cameras. Each rear camera has a 12MP resolution. As for the front camera, the Mi 8 Pro has a 20MP resolution camera. In addition to the fingerprint sensor, this phone is equipped with the Face Unlock feature.

As mentioned by The Verge, Mi 8 Pro is similar to the iPhone X. However, this phone has a much cheaper price. For 6GB RAM variants and 128GB memory, Mi 8 Pro is priced starting from CNY3,200. In China, this cellphone is available on the market on September 21st.

Meanwhile, the Mi 8 Lite will be equipped with a 6.26-inch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, two rear cameras with 12MP and 5MP resolution, a 24MP resolution front camera and a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. Mi 8 Lite has a battery of 3,350 mAh with prices starting from CNY1,400.

Mi 8 Pro is not the first smartphone to have a fingerprint sensor embedded on the screen. Chances are, there will be more and more smartphones using this technology, such as Vivo X21.

Given that Apple usually doesn't use new technology directly on its cellphone, it's likely that Samsung's smartphone will first have a fingerprint sensor on the screen than the iPhone.
