UN: Israel violates international law in Palestine

The UN special envoy for the Middle East peace process, Nickolay Mladenov, said on Sunday, September 16, 2018, the demolition of Palestinian Bedouin homes in Khan al-Ahmar Village was a violation of international law.

"I pay attention to the attitude of the Israeli authorities who dismantled the village of Khan Al-Ahmar / Abu Al-Helu," he said through a statement sent to Middle East Monitor.

Mladenov also said, "I urge Israeli authorities not to continue dismantling villages and stop relocating Palestinians in the occupied West Bank."

The UN official stressed, "What Israel is doing clearly violates international law and can damage the establishment of a Palestinian state that wants to live side by side."

Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas threatened to drag Israel to the International Court if he continued the dismantling of Khan Al-Ahmar Village.

As reported by the I24 International website, Abbas discussed the issue of dismantling Al-Ahmar Village by Israel with a number of PLO officials on Saturday, September 15, 2018. "The meeting discussed the Palestinian plan to propose Israel to the International Court."

Sighting to the Armory, Israel Attack Syria

Israel attacked Syria again on Saturday (9/15) last night. One area near the airport in Damascus was the target of this attack.

According to Syrian state media reports a number of Israeli missiles successfully prevented Syrian air defense. "Our air defense system foils Israeli missile aggression," the SANA news agency quoted a military source as saying on Sunday (9/16).

Meanwhile, the leader of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights in the UK said yesterday's missile attack targeted weapons depots in the airport area.

The place is known to have just brought weapons to the Iranian or Lebanese Hezbollah militia. Even so, the Israeli military spokesman has not commented on the foreign report.

A separate statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was still working to prevent the enemy, so his country armed itself with sophisticated weapons.

"Our red line is as sharp as before and our determination to target it is stronger than before," Netanyahu said as quoted by Haaretz page on Sunday (9/16).

In early September, Syrian state media reported Israeli jets attacking military targets in the northwest Syrian city of Hama with a target of Iranian positions there.

In the previous month, in August, Syrian chemical weapons development scientist Aziz Asber was killed with his personal driver when the car he was driving exploded in a city near Masyaf, northwest Syria. State media accused the Israeli attack of Aziz's death.

Several strikes near Masyaf have also been linked to Israel in recent years, including on July 22. In May, Israel said it attacked almost all Iranian military infrastructure in Syria.

The attack targeted Israeli-controlled areas in the broad military exchanges that had existed between the two hostile countries.

Earlier Israel admitted to carrying out airstrikes in Syria aimed at reducing the capacity of Iranian troops and allies, including the Lebanese Shiite group which supports Assad in the country's seven-year civil war.

Senior Israeli officials noted that the Israeli military had attacked more than 200 targets and fired 800 missiles and mortars during the past year and a half.
