Galaxy Note 9 Burns in a Wallet, Samsung Sued Consumers
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 cellphone is reported to have suddenly caught fire in the wallet of a New York woman, Diane Chung. The incident took place at the beginning of September.
According to a CBS News report, Diane Chung said that she used a new handset on September 3. The device suddenly became very hot. Chung then stopped using the phone and put it in his wallet.
But moments later, people around Chung screamed because they saw smoke billowing from inside the cellphone container. Chung immediately threw him to the floor, but the fire was still not extinguished. Until there are people who help him by taking a cloth and putting the cellphone in the water.

This incident led Chung to file a lawsuit against Samsung through the Queens District Court. The incident alleged in Chung's lawsuit is reminiscent of the nightmare of the Galaxy Note 7 that Samsung experienced two years ago.
In 2016, the Korean electronics giant stopped the device after a battery defect caused dozens of cellphones to explode or burn.
Some batteries were found to have been incorrectly made and slightly cemented, while some replacements did not have insulating tape and / or had sharp metal pieces perforated.
According to Samsung, to avoid cellphone use problems, it has created an eight-point inspection process for its batteries. They also claim that the battery quality "far exceeds industry standards".
"The battery in the Galaxy Note 9 is safer than before," said DJ Koh, head of Samsung's mobile business, last month, according to The Investor. "Users don't have to worry about batteries anymore."
"Samsung is very concerned about customer security and we stand behind the quality of millions of Galaxy devices used in the United States," Samsung said in a statement.
"We have not received reports of similar incidents involving Galaxy Note 9 devices and we are investigating this issue."
